fleur power

Fleur power - £17.50

On my trip to Manchester last weekend to visit the lovely Jasmine (WildYoungThing) I purchased my first mac blush! I am fairly new to high end makeup and apart from two Mac lipsticks in Shy girl and Patisserie, all of my collection is from the high street/drug store. If you have been a subscriber of my youtube channel you may be aware of my not so secret obsession with blush. With me being so pale, I feel flushed cheeks really bring me to life and in all honestly stop me from looking dead. So with this in mind, as much as I love my natural collection blushes I was on the hunt for a high quality alternative.

Before my trip I had comprised a list of blushers that I was interested in purchasing but as soon as I approached the counter, Fleur power jumped out at me. On the Mac website Fleur power is described as a soft bright pinkish-coral and I would definitely agree, with it being a soft pink and a bright coral at the same time. The colour is unique to all my other blushers as they are either dark corals or pale pinks with my only middle ground being Coral flush by No.7. Fleur power is brighter than Coral flush and has much less shimmer, almost appearing matt on the skin, a feature that I particularly like in a day time blush.

Overall I am pleased with my purchased but I can't help thinking is it really worth £17.50?

The half of me that says no:
I have blushes for a fraction of the cost that have equal colour pay off and equal longevity throughout the day.

The half of me that says yes:
The blush gives a lovely finish with the formula being creamy and easy to blend but more than that you cannot put a price on making yourself feel special. I consider a makeup item like this as a real treat and although I am not totally won over by high end makeup as a whole I will still continue to buy a bit here and there as a way to spoil myself.

I guess for now I'm still a drug store girl after all

Thank you for reading and don't forget to let me know what your favourite blush is below!

Lots of love

Rosie
